Mistake #9: Unstable employment

Carefully evaluate your own situation and make an informed decision.

Be honest with yourself before you start looking for a house to buy. If you believe your job is at risk or your hours are not dependable, think about getting a new job first which gives you stability.

Also, think about other career or job opportunities that might improve your employment status over the long term. Perhaps more schooling or additional training should be a priority before you buy a house.

Whatever you decide, buying a house will always be an option for you.
