Step 10 – Prepare for Closing

Review the Closing Day Checklist to make sure you understand the process, documents and funds you will need on closing day. The checklist includes:

• down payment
• closing costs
• proof of homeowner's insurance policy
• agent's commission (paid by seller)

It is important to keep track of all the paperwork, and it is very important to have all of the available funds in the bank. The funds should be saved separately from money used to pay monthly bills like car payments, food, utilities, car insurance, etc.
