Step 7 – Make An Offer

To make an offer on a house you will complete, sign and submit a purchase agreement. In the agreement you will specify:

  • the price you can afford to pay
  • the terms of your purchase, and
  • any contingency items that would keep you from moving forward with the purchase, for example, an unsatisfactory home inspection

Review the Making an Offer tipsheet and the tips on how to decide what price to pay and the explanation of the purchase agreement.

Review the Timeline for Buying a House tipsheet to be sure you understand what you need to do.

Remember, that once your offer is accepted you will have to apply for your loan. Review What I Need to Submit a Loan Application and The Loan Application Process tools to be prepared.
